    3. >I live in East Tennessee and have collected Cloud records for many years. >I don't claim to know the most about the Cloud families of East Tennessee, >but maybe I can be of some assistance. Ray Shirley rshirley@icx.net It is a bit of a stretch for me to claim Clouds in East Tennessee as my ancestor, Elizabeth CLOUD b. about 1765 in Stokes County North Carolina, was married to Richard BONDURANT while they were still in North Carolina. Their daughter Jane BONDURANT and her husband Nathaniel BARNES were known to have been in Claiborne County, Tennessee, for a time before going on to Hamilton County, Indiana. It seems likely that Elizabeth Cloud and her husband Richard Bondurant were with their daughter in Tennessee on their way to Indiana where they are buried. I wonder if Elizabeth Cloud Bondurant's family were drawn to Claiborne County by Cloud relatives who were there. I seek to identify parents or siblings of Elizabeth. The only lead I have is that she was probably related to an Isom Cloud whose name appears on documents in Indiana. Roberta

    3. Once again, I appeal to any Cloud males whose land of origin is Canada, Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia, or other country apart from the USA. Please consider participating in the Cloud DNA project. The Cloud Family Association has funds set aside to pay for the testing of participants outside the USA. We have participants who do not know their country of origin. You may hold the answer to their quest. The test itself consists of a simple scrapping from the inside of the mouth. It is painless and easy to do. Your identity and test results will be protected according to your wishes. For further information about the Cloud DNA Project, contact me at <rshirley@icx.net>. 3. I would like to add to what Tom Cloud has written in the "Results" below. My line is kit # 32519. DNA test results points to my line and kits numbers 33084, 32806, 39341, 39042, and 32731 all converging with Joseph Cloud who married Nancy Moore. Since the beginning of the project I have found a previously unknown cousin. We have compared family data and found that we share the same Joseph Cloud of Stokes County, NC/Roane County, TN married to Rachel Jessop. You may get similar results if you will participate in the Cloud DNA project. This man allegedly married a Lucinda Martin. I really hate to not give a URL when making website references, but if the link below doesn't work, please go to the main entry page and search for the name ... http://mykindred.com/cloud/TX/getperson.php?personID=I56296&tree=mykindred01 The main entry is http://mykindred.com/cloud/TX/ I don't have the other two names, though they could be spelled differently or first and middle names transposed or missing. I'm sure you've already done this and I just don't remember, but have you posted this to the Cloud bulletin board on rootsweb? I think that is the best place to throw a line in the water, as search engines find it and it stays there until someone sees it and responds. I would stay away from the other bulletin boards because they do cutesy things trying to suck money out of peoples' wallets -- like hiding the email address of the person who posted unless you "sign up", etc. (Be sure to bait your hook with as much information as you have.) 2. Tom, have just read your latest information about out DNA project -- clicked on 33774 for Gary Wayne Cloud -- in the sequence of that family on group sheet 28967 for Joseph Glynn Cloud -- it is indicated that child number 1, a male, is still living. This is not correct. Child #1 was the twin of #2 and neither are living. Child #1 was Jay Glynn Cloud, b. July 16, 1935 in Temple, Tx. He died May 31, 1988 in San Antonio, following a heart/lung transplant. I don't suppose this is too important in the grand scheme of things but just writing to add this. I am positive of this information. Joseph Glynn Cloud was my mother's brother and we were closely associated. Olive Ruth Nabors
