He was William R. Cloud but he was born in about 1805. He lived for awhile in Indiana and moved to Marshall County, AL. He left his family in Marshall County and went to Cherokee County, Texas. According to a power of attorney he had a brother living in MO and his wife later lived in Webster County, MO with a married daughter, Angeline. There are a lot of questions to be answered between the time William was a constable in Marshall County, AL and he showed up with a second family in Texas.
