Has anyone had experience with using alternate numbering than what is recommended by the program documentation? I'd be interested in hearing what others are doing. I am inclined to leave my (already sorted) documents by family with subgroups by document. Has anyone else tried this? Successfully or unsuccessfully?

Hi - - I have not recorded by family for the very reasons that Liz explains. Her system allows only one copy of a document to support all family surnames. It works!
