I looked in the archives and saw the question asked a few years back, but didn't see an answer. So, please forgive me if I am repeating what has already been addressed. I have 3 or 4 ancestors who were in the Civil War. I currently have in my possession Company Muster Rolls and Pension Packets, each about 10-15 pages thick. I have transcribed all of the information into a Word Document for a quick search. How have all of you handled the Civil War packets you have? Did you just enter them as one document in Clooz or did you create an entry in Clooz for each piece of paper? My policy has always been one entry for each piece of paper, but I guess I am dreading doing all of that. I am looking for suggestions, advice from those who have already addressed this issue. Thanks - Carla "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather ... to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- What a ride!"
I entered my ancestor's pension packet as one document in Clooz. I then attached every person, who was named in the document, to that file. In each person's details screen I put all the information relating to that section of the file. In their Remarks section, I transcribed the information relating to that particular witness. This way if I run a report on that document I have all of the people listed with the information. Hope this helps, - Sue - -----Original Message----- From: Carla Leber <cleber@dtnspeed.net> To: Clooz-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, 26 Jan 2006 08:37:27 -0600 Subject: [Clooz] Civil War Documents I looked in the archives and saw the question asked a few years back, but didn't see an answer.
