Carla, I have a number of Civil War documents. For a project I've been working on, I give the document (such as a pension) one number. Within the document info, I summarize a lot of the documents. However, there are occasionally baptism, marriage, and death records within the pension file. So, I enter them as separate documents with a page number. So, for instance, if I have a 53 page pension, I number each of those pages (in pencil). Then I give it a number, say Pension 001. Then I find a marriage record on page 10, so I give it the number Pension 001-010. That way I know that the marriage record is actually contained within the pension file and not a separate document. I hope that helps. At 09:37 AM 1/26/2006, Carla Leber wrote: >I looked in the archives and saw the question asked a few years back, but >didn't see an answer.
