M Smith, I am sorry you are having such a time with the FTM export -- I think they have made FTM much more difficult than it needs to be. Anyway, I supplied Liz with instructions on the FTM export process a number of years ago when I started using Clooz. Try the following: 1. Take a deep breath 2. In FTM go to the report icon. 2a. Click on format 2b. Click on report format 2c. Click on Custom Report 3. Click on Contents 4. Click on Items to Include in Report 4a. Choose Reference Number 4b. Choose Name (Last, First Middle) 4c. Choose Birth date (make sure you have chosen the date format of dd month year) 4d. Choose Marriage date 4e. Choose Death date 5. Run the report 6. Click on Edit 6a. Click on Copy the Report 7. Take another deep breath 8. Open MS Word 9. Click on the Paste Icon 10. Click on the Reveal Codes Icon (it looks like the paragraph symbol -- back to High School Grammar -- a backwards P with a double stick) 11. Go to the very top of the document and delete everything until the Reference number heading. 12. Click on Edit 12a. Click on Replace 12b. Click on the More button 12c. Click on the Special button and choose the Tab (it will appear as a carat and t) 12d. Put a comma in the Replace with field 12e. Click on Replace All 13. Edit the headings on the first line to agree to the Clooz Manual 13a. Change Reference Number to the the Alternate Number -- Clooz assigns its own number, but this will add the numbers you use in FTM to your Clooz file. 14. Save file as defined in the Clooz manual and then proceed to import. 15. Take a deep breath Good Luck. It really works -- I have loaded and updated a number of times.
