It may be that somehow the "read-only" attribute was set on your database. You can check this by going in to Windows Explorer, find the file and right click on it. Select Properties. If the Read-only box is checked, uncheck it. This happens if you move files onto a CD and then off again. Can you keep the two files updated by using the direct cable connection and briefcase? That is how I keep other things like my genealogy program on the laptop and the desktop current.
