    1. Re: [Clooz] Entering people in Clooz & Legacy

    3. You've misunderstood my point. Let me clarify: In order to get Legacy data into Clooz (people, sources, anything), Legacy does not need TO BE MODIFIED to *write to* Clooz. Clooz can BE MODIFIED to *read from* Legacy. You don't need Millenia's involvement at all. I was responding to your prior statement "If you want to be able to add people to Legacy and then Clooz, you'll need to bug the folks at Millennia as it's their move to make that possible. " In fact, you/your programmer can make this possible. For example, implement an "Import New People" function in Clooz which would, when selected, provide the user with a dropdown list of Legacy folk. User selection from this list would result in the selected individuals' pertinent data being inserted into Clooz. I, too, know what I'm talking about. 1. CloozV2 - Buildings - Multiple Pictures and Work Around
    2. Dick Davis
    3. In working with my pictures of building such as churches - the ones that I have attended as well a the ones that other family members have attended, I have multiple pictures such as the outside of the church, the inside such as sanctuary, etc. At the present time, I know that Clooz V2 doesn't provide for multiples for one entry, and though that I had read that this was an enhancement that was being planned. I have adopted a work around until that time. The workaround is to label the building, churches in this case, as "Church-VA-001" as the main picture of the outside. Then when there are additional pictures to then identify within Clooz V2 and for the file name as "Church-VA-001a" for the second one, "Church-VA-001b" as the third picture, and right down the alphabet. Then when the enhancement of Clooz V2 is made available, I will then be able to link them back to the main record for the church. So, I guess the questions are these: (1) did I remember seeing correctly that this is a forth coming enhancement? And (2) does or could any one think of a better work around at this time while we are waiting on the enhancement? If there are some other thoughts on this, by all means share them as I might have been short sighted in my planning and naming here for churches.

    1. RE: [Clooz] CloozV2 - Buildings - Name Suggestion

    3. Also, as this message arrived, I felt that a good enhancement would be the name of the building - such as "Shiloh United Method Church, Montpelier, VA" This would be in the detail of the record and then show on the grid. This would be applicable to other areas in Clooz, and the logic hopefully could be reused. Then when looking at the grid, we could quickly see which building we would like to work with and see the people we have on file that are linked to the building. Comments? Thoughts? 3. Margaret, I would appreciate it if you would make your programming suggestions to me instead of to the list. I am a staff of one, and I pay a programmer, who is currently on vacation. It took me 5 years to release Clooz 2. Implementing anything new is not as easy as you make it sound. There's no reason Millennia can't make functions available for their users within Legacy as I've done within Clooz, if they want to provide that service to their customers. Clooz is a stand-alone program and I've only added the convenience of using Legacy and Clooz together because I purchased their GEDCOM code. I don't make it easy for users of ANY other program to use the two together, and I'm beginning to regret making Legacy and Clooz work together (for several reasons). My obligation is to ALL of my customers, not just to Legacy users. I will concentrate my programming resources where I feel they are most needed. 3. Elizabeth ~ I was not making "programming suggestions"; if I were, the post would have included code. I was merely addressing Clooz/Legacy interoperability features at a *functional/user level* in response to another poster's query. I in no way inferred degree of difficulty one way or the other regarding new feature implementation. The topic never came up.
