I use 2 databases - one for each of my parents. This works for me because there is little or no overlap of people, locations, and sources with these two databases. All my Personal File #s indicate county, surname, or family depending on type of document. That way I don't have to switch over to the other database to see what number I should be using for the next marriage record etc. I've put my siblings and our descendants on my dad's database for convenience so I only have to record once. However I would use only one database if my mom had married a local man because there would be lots of overlap. Keren
Karen-- Thanks for your information. I can use this system for some, But-- How do you differentiate families -- generation, names, etc. John Doe and Mary Smith John Doe and MaryAnn Jones etc, I have the same names in each generation for each child -- i.e. Both John Doe's sons had son John who each had son John - etc. Thanks On Sat, 31 Mar 2001 [email protected] wrote: > I use 2 databases - one for each of my parents.
