Gail, I can't help with Legacy issues, but maybe I can help with the sorting issue. After you open the People list by clicking on Link People, click on the Surname Column header. Then hold down the CTRL key and click on the Given Name column header. This will sort the list by Surname then Given Name. If you wish to further order the list, simply hold downt he CTRL key and then click on the column header. You will have to do this each time you wish to link someone as the window does not "remember" this order. Another way to find people is to click on the Find button. In the dialogue box, type the surname you are looking for then click the check box next to the word "surname" under Select Fields to Search In. Click the Search button. When the list comes up, click on the Given Name column. Chose the person you wish by double-clicking on the name. In the next window, click the Link button. That is how I sort names using Clooz 2 as a stand alone. If I understand your question about the Personal File #: A Personal File # can be anything you wish. But keep it simple. I use BIRTH00001, BIRTH00002 and so on for birth records; DEA00001, DEA00001 for death records. For census I use the state abbreviations: OH00001, OH00002 for Ohio Federal; CA00001, CA00002 for California Federal; UK00001 for United Kingdom. One person on the list a while back simply numbered them something like 0001, 0002, etc or DOC0001, DOC0002, etc. Use whatever works for you. If you already have a numbering system set up, you should use it. I have also studied the Help files and Liz's sample database to get ideas. Hope this helps.
