    3. Lisa, I too have been using Clooz for many years, and have found it to be a fantastic program - and I do not have Access. Also, I too have been in touch with Liz and have had no problems - always a professional and quick response -even when I wasn't yet registered. As for releasing it as she did, I have not found that to be a problem - I keep in mind that this is not a "final version" and I also realize from my programming background that there is really no such thing as a bug free final version for any program! Please do not give up - Liz will help you with problems as she is available. 3. Lisa! You misread something because you do NOT need Access to use the program. Just what is the problem you are having? It appears you got into the program to read something about Access. If you can get to the Help menu, a whole manual is there and can be printed out. Be specific about your problem and folks on the List will try to help, if they can. I have marveled at the prompt help from Liz for many, many years. If she is away, there will be short periods when she can't answer. But, I know that she will. No other program I have ever, ever had, was there any person who answered so promptly. No program comes with no errors. Many of us were thrilled to get the program, and are willing to wait for some fixes as they arrive. We do not complain and insult. We report problems as carefully as possible so they can be investigated. Try to be patient. Liz will answer as soon as she can. Be assured of that. Jane

    3. Lisa -- A rather cheap shot! I have dealt with Liz over a number of years and have never found her to be anything but professional in her support of the product. It's too bad computers malfunction, but it happens. Let's all take a breath and try to be constructive. -------Original Message------- From: Lisa Masters Date: 07/14/06 19:21:43 To: Clooz-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [Clooz] What a joke Even there support is hiding This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Support is only for registers users, I had to download this program 3 times before I found something that mentions you need Access to make it work, I already learned from other programs that buying before using is a big mistake. She should not have this program up till the errors are out of it. I have also learned I'm not the only with errors on getting pass the first page.

    3. To everyone who responded to my dilemma, a big thanks. I copied the files to my hard drive. Then opened them with Clooz. Both my databases are there and saved. I appreciate the quick responses. What a simple thing, I don't know why I didn't think of saving it to my hard drive myself. 3. If you're trying to open/restore an .mdb file from a CD, you will get Error 3051. Jet/Access can't open an .mdb file which is in a read-only folder/environment (like a CD). Copy it to your hard drive and try to open it from there. Access 97 has no issues with long file names. 3. Laura, Try the following: 1. Go to Windows Explorer to view your files on the rewritable CD. Find the file that you want to restore. 2. Copy the needed file to a place on your hard drive, such as the My Documents folder. Right click the copied file, click on properties. Make sure that the read-only box is NOT checked. If you see a check, in that box, click on it to remove it. 3. While you are still in Windows Explorer, you may want to rename the newly copied file. To do so, right click on the file and rename. 4. Close Windows Explorer, start Clooz, and try the restore procedure again. Hope this helps, Fawn A Clooz user, not a document loser. --- LAURA Taylor-Hanson <lauraltaylor@msn.com> wrote: > I need some help. 3. Georgia's description prompts a question about how best to catagorize a document: I have two letters from two Chicago cemeteries sent to my grandmother over 40 years ago when she was exploring which ancestors were buried there. These letters list names, dates, and ages. I haven't entered them into Clooz yet. When I do, should they be entered as correspondence or as burial records? 1. unable to restore backup from cd
    2. LAURA Taylor-Hanson
    3. I need some help. I archived my data on a rewritable cd and when I tried to restore it, I get a screen that says the following: "Error 3051, The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file D:\050418_040828_040827_taylor.mdb. It is already opened exclusively by another user or you need permission to view its data. mdlUtility:fnAttachTables." I have version 1.23 and have just ordered the version 2 today. All my files have .mdb on them and have quite a bit of data on the taylor.mdb. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can provide. I was doing quite a bit of genealogy until I hit roadblocks. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! 3. Some churches have a register of deaths which can include where the person was born, parents' names, spouse's names and place and date of burial. I even have a church record which included the names of all the priests who concelebrated the funeral Mass. The deceased was the parent of a couple of Catholic priests. And I have seen other Catholic church records where it only records the person's name and the date and time of the funeral Mass. From cemeteries I have gotten copies of ledger sheets with lot/section/grave number, date of burial, who else is buried in the same section, layout of the graves and whether there is a marker or monument as well as when it was purchased and by whom. I have also gotten computer printouts with much of the same information as well as the sex of person and the undertaker. And there are some cemeteries that have the information online.
