    3. Liz, Regarding your sentence below from an earlier post - does this mean that I will be able to enter information in Clooz and then export it back to Legacy? For example, will I be able to enter census information through Clooz (which would be easier than entering through Legacy) and it will somehow show up in my Legacy program? If so, I'll jump on the next plane and come help your programmer <grin>. When we release the program, it will work directly with Legacy Family Tree. If you're already using the program, you'll be able to convert to using Legacy and Clooz together.

    3. If you prefer to send a check for the upgrade, send it to Ancestor Detective, LLC, P.O. Box 6386, Plymouth, MI 48170-8486. Make sure to put a note in there that you're ordering the version 2 upgrade so I know what to do with your money. Also, make sure to give me your full address and e-mail in case there are problems. If you registered under a different name or address, it would be helpful to know that also. Thanks! At 10:29 AM 10/19/2005, you wrote: >Where do we send our checks? 1. Clooz version 2.0 advanced sale
    2. Elizabeth Kelley Kerstens, CG, CGL
    3. I got a great response to my earlier e-mail about the new Clooz version 2.0. Thanks for all of your enthusiasm and confidence! I have added the options to purchase (in advance) either the full version 2.0 or the version 2.0 upgrade from the Ancestor Detective shopping cart at http://www.goemerchant7.com/index.cgi?PageToView=catalog&Department=80520&Cartid=67321129732393&Merchant=ancestordetectivellc&ExpandedDepts=. If you are a registered user of Clooz, you qualify for the $20 upgrade price. I will check the database when I get your order and verify your existing version of Clooz. If you are not registered, you'll hear from either me or my niece, Kristin Lancor, who fills orders for me now. We will request proof of purchase, which would be either the registration card that comes with Clooz or a copy of your receipt (that is all that is accepted). If you ordered directly from Ancestor Detective, you will be in the database. Some people who ordered from Ancestry think they ordered from me because of the closeness of our business names. We'll let you know... Please remember that I have nothing to ship you right now. I'm hoping the program will be completed by the end of the year or the beginning of next year. With this infusion of new money, the process will be quicker, but we still have to go through beta testing. And, we're not adding any more new options at this point, in an effort to get the program out on the market. I thank you for your patience and I hope that you will be pleased with the new product. 3. I'm still working on it. I ran out of money and production stopped for about a month while I waited to earn more money. The programming has become extremely expensive and I am having trouble keeping up with the expense. My main programmer tells me we are close to beta testing and I hope that's true. One option that I've been considering, to help get the program done and to help with my finances, is to offer the upgrade for sale now, realizing that the program is not yet complete. It would be an advanced sale. The upgrade is going to sell for $20. If I received money from the advanced sales, I would be able to get this thing done more quickly. I'm interested in knowing if anyone is willing to pay the $20 now and receive the CD when it's done (I'm really hoping it would be by the end of the year). The concession I could give for those willing to pay and wait would be to not charge shipping. Please let me know if you're interested and I'll add the item to the online shopping cart if there's enough interest. The wait WILL be worth it. I'm very anxious to get the new program myself. In addition to the forms currently in Clooz, the upgrade includes the following new forms: 1911 Canadian Census 1831-1901 French Censuses 1819 German Census (Mecklenburg Schwerin) 1801-1900 Norwegian Censuses 1836, 1921-1945 Newfoundland Censuses 1906 NW Provinces of Canada Census Agricultural, Buildings, Business, Mortality, and Manufacturing censuses for Canada (where available) 1850-1885 US Mortality Schedules 1850-1885 US Agricultural Schedules 1850-1885 US Manufacturing Schedules 1880 US DDD Schedule Under census substitutes, in addition to directories (of which there are now four types--religious, farm, school, and population) and Irish Valuation, there are the following forms: Tax Record Irish Tithe Applotments Voters' List Under documents, in addition to the existing selections, there are also: Birth Record Deed Marriage Record Naturalization Passenger List, Early Passenger List, Later SSDI In addition to photos, there is an entry for Maps. The source templates are designed following the writings of Elizabeth Shown Mills in her book Evidence! And there is a Research Log. In addition to your People list, you will be able to add businesses to a Business list. And, there is a Building form that you can use to document house histories. The program has been completely rewritten in Visual Basic .Net, but will still use a Microsoft Access database to store your data (and a Legacy Family Tree database is also used for storing data--there are actually two databases for your data now). Your data currently in your database will be completely imported into the appropriate places in the new program, although you may need to do some tweaking for some of the new forms. And, most significantly, there is a GEDCOM import. No more ASCII text imports that have caused many people to get angry at the program. When we release the program, it will work directly with Legacy Family Tree. If you're already using the program, you'll be able to convert to using Legacy and Clooz together. So, as you can see, there are a lot of enhancements. It has been a long road for me, but I'm anxious for the program to be out there for you to use. Again, let me know if there's an interest in an advance sale offering.
