We downloaded OK, but I've got my gedcom and have tried for hours to gedcom some people into Clooz so I can try out the beta testing model. My gedcom will only work with Legacy. Is anyone else able to gedcom into Clooz without Legacy? There is no other option. Dottie Nash
With Clooz 2 open, I opened Legacy which paused while opening with a message to the effect that the family file was in us by another user. Is there a conflict here? David Williams
Dick Davis and rest of list, My problem downloading was my slow dialup connection. I went to the Library and used the wireless system and had it done in 20 minuets. Thanks. David, there are two sites to download from. If you go to Clooz.com, you'll see two choices. Try them both. They are working, but may be overloaded at times. At 05:03 PM 4/1/2006, David P. Thank you Liz and Dick. It was a problem with Download Accelerator. I've got it now. David Williams
During installation I got a message that Clooz 2.0 optionally uses Microsoft Net framework. Not being a fan of MS I said no, the installation aborted. I tried again and against better judgement installed the MS program, installation went OK until an error message "Error1931, cannot update scrrun.dll as it is windows protected...." I said OK and the installation proceeded and was apparently was successful. It would seem MS framework is NOT optional, and updating scrrun.dll is not necessary.
Try as I might, I don't seem to be able to get a download started. I have a broadband connection and am using Download Accelerator, but continuously get the message 'Site disconnected at the beginning. Please try again later'. Is anyone else having this problem? Is the site overloaded perhaps? David Williams

OK, the final beta is up on my website for you to download. You can click here to download ftp://ancestordetective.com/pub/setup.exe or you can download from www.clooz.com. Feel free to play with the program and convert your database or import a GEDCOM. You can now use Clooz with Legacy 6.0. Instructions for using Clooz 2.0 are in Clooz Help. This final beta will expire on 15 April 2006, so feel free to input data until then, but realize this is a beta version and you should not enter data you don't mind entering again. It's possible that the database structure may change as a result of this beta test, so don't get too wed to the data you input in this version. If you find any problems that you'd like to report to me, please send an e-mail and include the following information. We really need you to stick to this format so we know where the problem lies: * error description * steps which led to the error * screen shot of the error * db name and file attached * mdb file (for conversion error) * Clooz build used (found in Help/About Clooz) * Comments * Operating system Thanks again and hopefully the long wait for Clooz 2.0 will be worth it! Enjoy! Liz, I agree with Marion - take your time - since I have programming experience (many years ago) I know how difficult it is to get the bugs out - and get it running - so take the time you need. A great program like Clooz is worth waiting for. Cheryl
Liz, Please take your time and do it the way you want to do it. We'll wait. Marion Smith Whiting

Really, isn't it just potentially accepting more beta testers prior to the main release in April. In effect testing the program with an added range of hardware and conditions? Sorry I am not meaning to sound argumentative, just anxious. Cheers, Gary
I apologize for the delay. Nothing with the programming of version 2 has gone on the schedule that I would have preferred. I couldn't get the final beta to even install on my computer so I couldn't upload it. We're still working out some of the details with that. Problem is that we had to purchase a new version of Install Shield and it came with a bunch of bugs itself and my programmers have had their hands full figuring out those bugs. Compound that problem with the fact that I'm out of town and working with a laptop that doesn't have everything I need. So, I was premature telling everyone that the final beta would be uploaded last week and I apologize. I am hopeful that I'll be able to get it uploaded this week. I have an e-mail from my programmer now that I need to look at and if we can get the bugs worked out, the beta will be uploaded. I'll announce it here and on my website when it's available. Please remember that it will be a beta and you probably shouldn't do too much data entry in case we have changes to the database structure as a result of the beta testing. All Good things take time, Gary. Give Liz and her programmers time to give us a program they can be proud of and one we will enjoy using without a lot of head aches, unlike some programs I have that are two versions ahead of the one I am using and they still don't have all the bugs out of my version.
