    3. I just finished today loading and transferring my legacy records to Clooz V2.0.10 and I experienced no errors, hangs etc. I transferred more than 56, 600 individuals and more than 350 sources from legacy. I am working with Legacy 6.0.0.83 and windows XP service pack 2 and all the updates. We've worked the kinks out of the GEDCOM, and the Legacy compatibility and I believe everything is working ok now. This version will expire on 30 April 2006. I hope to have the testing wrapped up in the next week and get the program released before the end of April! I still have some writing to do in Help, particularly about the Clooz-Legacy compatibility. Basically, * if you create a new Clooz database and say you want to use Legacy, Clooz will copy all your Legacy people, sources, and repositories into your Clooz database. * if you convert your 1.23 database and say you want to use Legacy, Clooz will NOT bring in your Legacy people, but will bring in the sources and repositories, so there may be duplicates. * if you import a GEDCOM, you can import it into a new Clooz database that doesn't hook up with Legacy, or you can import it into an existing database, and there you can choose to import into a Clooz database and use Legacy. Then, Clooz will bring in your sources and repositories. * if you are using the two programs together, and you add a new person to Clooz, the program will ask if you want to add that person to Legacy. Obviously, if you don't use Clooz with Legacy, none of this applies. If you have any problems with the program, please let me know off this list so I can fix them. This is still a beta test and the same warning applies about adding too much data. You shouldn't start doing heavy data-entry until the final program is released. We're almost there!!! 3. I'm having a problem with the Source Title Dropdown list, which appears on many input screens (Marriage Record, Birth Record, Death Record, Funeral/Burial Record, Photo, etc.). The dropdown list spans the entire screen width with no vertical scrollbar, but only shows the first 6 sources and does not scroll beyond those 6. I can't select any source other than those 6.

    3. Hi, When I couldn't create a Clooz db linked to Legacy, I created a standalone db and imported my data via gedcom. I entered a few test records and ran a report. When I tried to export the report, the export failed with the following error message: Method 'ISCREditableRTFExportFormatOptions_reserved5' on type 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.EditableRTFExportFormatOptionsClass' from assembly 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel, Version=11.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' is overriding a method that has been overridden. 3. Hi, When I tried to create a new Clooz database from my Legacy 6 database, I got the following error message during the Source import: Project Name: CLOOZ. Source: CBLDictionary.DictionaryDataAdd Description: The field is too small to accept the amount of data your attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data. The program hung at the "Transferring Sources (586)..." screen, with no movement of the progress bar. Is there a limitation on some of the Legacy source field sizes? Thanks, Margaret

The stand-alone version of 1.23 does not require you to install Access, but the Access versions do. Version 2 is not written in Access. It's written in Visual Basic.net. There will only be one version. You do not need to have Microsoft Access to use Clooz (and you didn't for 1.23 either, if you installed the stand-alone version). Your database will still be a Microsoft Access database and if you want to view it outside of Clooz, you will need to use Microsoft Access 2003 to do so. 3. Carl, I just went through the Help screens on People and all 7 displayed fine. I had a similiar problem once on a install, when the people list wouldn't have anyone listed when you clicked on "People" in the left hand explorer bar. In my case a uninstall of the Clooz2 program and then a reinstall solved the problem and it worked fine since. I figured something went sour on the initial install. Just remember this is still a beta test program. The report area is still quite restricted and you might not be able to pull out information, the way you now do in Clooz1. At present I still use and maintain my data in Clooz 1. I'm sure Liz will tell us when we can safely start to fully convert our data over to Clooz2 and use it as our day to day working program. I would strongly sugesst for the moment that we use it to get a feel of what is to come and if there are still some bugs, let Liz know. 3. Carl, it's better that you (and others) report bugs to me instead of the list as we're still in beta testing and I need to know the problems so I can fix them. Did you import your previous version? What version of Windows are you using? These are the kind of questions I need answers to when I troubleshoot, which is why it's better to send me the problem than the list. 3. Hi Liz, Does this cover the problem I have experienced? When I try to reopen a database which has been created from an imported GEDCOM the program tells me that the file (which is in Legacy format) needs to be updated to Legacy Version 6 and refuses to open. Please don't take this as a criticism; I think it's very brave to put the program out to public beta. Keep up the good work and thanks a lot. I look forward to the next version. 3. Hi Glenda, Welcome to Clooz. The "edit lists" allows you to add those entries that are specific for you, and the option, to correct that entry you didn't mean to make or spell so creatively! For example, I do a lot of research in Norfolk Virginia. If I happened to spell it Norfolke, I can edit that! At the top of the edit List-Cities (for example), there is some additional information about the use of "edit lists."
