My great grandmother, Annie Francis Kennedy, took great delight in claiming to be a descendant of Betsy Ross. She was a member of the DAR and like your grandmother was a woman of great integrity and would have nothing to gain by claiming something that wasn't true. I have made a couple of attempts to locate the direct line through the DAR and they were less than helpful and quick to let me know that many people "falsely claimed" ( I believe were the words) to be descendants of Betsy Ross. I have been unable to link directly to Betsy Ross although I did find a connection through a Major William Kennedy that served during the American Revolution. I wish I knew how to help you with your search but I am quite frankly at a stand still with it. As you can see by other posts, several are trying to help but I also am unable to connect the dots.
