My great grandfather was George William Clark(e) born 15 Sept 1846 in Spotsylvania County, VA. He was a 16 year old soldier during the Civil War and never left Spotsylvania County after the War, so he doesn't qualify as your George, but since the family tends to re-use the same names, he could be a cousin. Is Leonard a family name in your family? I notice you sign as Leon. The reason I ask is that George was the son of John Henry Clark(e), who was son of William S. Clark(e), who was son of Leonard Clark(e) of Caroline County, Va. There was at least one Leonard who took his name from this Leonard. There was also a Leonard Clark(e) in Shenandoah County, who lived at about the same time as the one in Caroline County.
