Cheers, Jan in VT Obituary of George Miller Dains "The oldest person in town died at his home in Winchendon Center, Sunday at the age of 92 years, 3 months, nine days (April 9, 1895).  Mr. Dains born in Brooklyn, Connecticut January 5, 1803, the son of Nathan and Mary (Wight) Dains.  He has been a resident of this town for twenty three years.  He married September 23, 1823, Cynthia M. Daly, who died over forty years ago.  June 5, 1852, he married Laura A. Clark who survives him.  Four children came to bless his home none of whom are now living.  There are ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren who reside in Vermont, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Nebraska, Colorado, and California and occupy positions of trust and honor...The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 3 o'clock at his late residence...Remains were taken to Rutland, Vermont where they! were buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
