I've been given an interesting family tidbit and I wonder if, by a stretch, someone might know something about it. My ggg-grandfather, Rev. William CLARKE, was sailing to New Jersey from England in 1830 with his wife Martha, and three children. They were supposedly going to meet up with relatives already in New Jersey. There was a storm and they were either forced ashore or diverted to Prince Edward Island and they stayed there instead of proceeding to the US. Presumably they would have written the NJ people to announce the change of plans. Are there any New Jersey Clarkes with this in the family folklore? For that matter, are there any Prince Edward Island Clarkes here? Thank you, Fred Clarke
