Hi this William Duke Clarke in the pedigree Register dated June 1914. was the son of Rev'd Thomas Foster Clarke and his wife Emily, dau of William Duke of Chichester, solicitor. William married Lolita Woodson of San Diego, California. Only one child is mentioned and that is William Duke Clarke. Wouldn't know if they went to the US to live, but it is possible William went there himself and met Lolita ther. It just doesn't say. Now William Duke snr had siblings. Emily Foster Clarke, Thomas Clarke of Eskmeals who married Eleanor Falcon. Henry Clarke, Lucy Elizabeth Clarke who marr John Lawrence Sowerby of Round hill Cumberland, Uk, and then there was Bernard Fsoter Clarke. Unfortunately some of these pedigrees in old books only follow through the more affluent families, but they can still be helpful if you already have the later families and can make a connection.
