This appears to be a piece of evidence that would go toward proving that Samuel Clark who married Elizabeth Bennett never went to NC. In order to try to resolve the question of Samuel Clark who married Elizabeth Bennett in 1747, I decided to do some research in New Jersey. I did find in New Jersey Archives, Series I, vol. 38, pp. 69-70, the will of Samuel Clark of Mt. Holly, Burlington County, made Oct. 8, 1796, probated Dec. 1, 1796. It does not name a wife but mentions sons William and Samuel; 2 daughters not named; grandson Robert C. Clark. Witnesses were John Shinn, John Perry, and Murrell Harding.
