Does the 1880 census tell you where Francis Marion Clark was born? My gggrandfather was Francis Marion Clark (b. 10/23/1844) of the town of Wisner, Franklin Parish, Louisiana,USA. He was married to a Bettie Farrell (sp?) Ferrial, Ferrall. We found them in an old note in a family Bible, but can't read her maiden name. We also cannot find any info on Francis Marion Clark other than a Hinds County, Mississippi 1880 census. He later moved to Louisiana. He married Bettie who was born in 1855 in Louisiana. could there be any connection between our Bettie and your Ellen? Francis and Bettie had 6 children, two of them were George and Mary (same as your Frank and Ellen). Lots of similarities here! Another relative of ours is named Michael William Kerrigan (b. 1820-1825) from Ireland. Could garrigan be Kerrigan? Maybe I'm chasing rabbits. Any thoughts, musings, or info?? ==== CLARKE Mailing List ==== CLARKE Archives & List search http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/clarke http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=CLARKE
Hi Patti, The census says Francis Marion Clark was born in Mississippi and his unnamed father was born in Alabama. Didn't know if Frank had a relative who immigrated to the US. We've hit a wall on F. M. Clark; the name similarities were strong. Thanks for your response, Darryl ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patti Waitman-Ingebretsen" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 22, 2002 10:11 PM Subject: Re: [CLARKE] Re: CLARKE's from Co Cavan - Mullagh, Crossbane, ardlow, virginia > Does the 1880 census tell you where Francis Marion Clark was born? > Patti > ----- Original Message ----- > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Sent: Saturday, June 22, 2002 4:02 PM > Subject: [CLARKE] Re: CLARKE's from Co Cavan - Mullagh, Crossbane, ardlow, virginia > > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Clark, Farrell, Kerrigan > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mBJ.2ACEB/1197.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Dear Trish, > The name Farrell, connected with Clark, is interesting.
