    1. [CLARKE] Clarkes in Nobber Parish, Co. Meath 1774-1842
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Clarke, Shalvoy Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mBJ.2ACEB/1233 Message Board Post: We recently received research from Nobber Parish in northern Co. Meath. It includes Clarke baptisms and marriages and includes in many cases names of townlands, sponsors and witnesses. Also 2 Clarke deaths in 1779 and 1821. The list of names can be seen at:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~shalvoyresearch/Research/EneclannAIf for some reason that doesn't work, search for Shalvoy/Scollin and then click the research link, then the Eneclann report link and finally Appendices. The tithe report of 1824 shows what looks to be Patt Clarke living in Cregg townland. It appears that there is a link with these Clarkes and the town of Kingscourt on the Cavan/Meath border. The Catholic Church in Kingscourt has a Clarke plot and a stone there indicates that it was for the Clarkes of Possextown (Posseckstown) Co.Meath. This is also in Nobber parish. Several of the Clarke marriages indicate that they came from Enniskeen(this is Kingscourt or nearby).I hope this helps someone. We! are looking for the family of Bridget Clarke who married James Shalvoy and who were living in Cregg townland in the early 1800s.
