Melanie, According to his obit. my William Clark was born in Marion Co. Indiana. Alonso was born in Missouri and was their first child. He died at the age of about 1 1/2 yrs. I have thought the same thing about the name Alonso (Alonzo) when I have read it before. It is rather unusual. My information on William is very sketch prior to his marriage. I do know that in the 1880 census he lists Ohio as the birthplace for both parents. I hope this helps. Maybe there is a connection somewhere. Linda
