    3. Hello, Fay. I made a mistake when I said that William, son of Robert and Susannah Clark was a minister. It was the second Wm., son of William Sr. who was a minister. He and his wife and family did live in several counties. The first William, who I am researching is very difficult to locate. I am hoping that I will receive more info tonight or tomorrow to help me with that. If I do, I will put it on this board. I am still hoping that I will find out who this Catharine is. Thanks for writing Ruth

    3. Ruth, If you ever do find out that it's the same William Clark, let me know. I've been tracking my Clarks in Madison, Lincoln, Pulaski, Wayne and Clinton counties in Kentucky. There was in Madison/Garrard County a Catherine Clark sister of Elinor Clark, who we think was married to William Clark of the same county. These families arrived in Madison County in 1787 and dating is extremely difficult. Elinor Clark married John Clark. She was born 1750-1764 in Orange Co NC and died 1843 in Rutherford Co TN. John Clark died in Madison County between 1794-1787, and it is believed he was either her cousin or uncle. Her sister Catherine Clark died before 1808. Elinor Clark appears on the Pulaski Co KY 1806-1807 tax lists with my husband's ancestor Thomas Clark b. bef. 1755. Tracing backward, Thomas and his son Samuel are on the Pulaski Co tax lists from 1799 through 1810. In 1798 they are on the Lincoln County tax list (Pulaski was formed from Lincoln in 1799) and in 1796 Thomas and Samuel are together on the Madison County tax list. The Madison County microfilms are very faded and difficult to read, so I have not been able to determine if they were there in 1797. I am certain Thomas is somehow related to John & Elinor Clark and to Catherine Clark and her husband, who may be William Clark. He is not a brother of Catherine or Elinor, but he may have been a brother of John and/or Catherine's husband. Also connected in some way is James Clark b. bef. 1765 m. Leannah Ross in Lincoln Co 10 Jul 1792. I believe I have picked up his trail on the Madison County tax lists. He had two sons--Robert and John, and a daughter Nancy. These three migrated to Illinois after James' death. -------Original Message------- From: CLARKE-L@rootsweb.com Date: 11/25/04 22:49:45 To: CLARKE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [Clarke-Clark] re: Clarks Hello, Fay.
