    3. Hello Laurie and all of you who recently posted messages on Subject Clarks in CT., IL, and IA. As a point of interest, I was born in Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT. and raised in both East Hartford, and Milford, New Haven Co. CT. I am seeking the Parents, Siblings, Emigration and any other available data on my Great- Grandparents: Alexander Clark, (b:ca: 1844) in Scotland and Mary Boyd ( b:Oct 185), Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. I know that at some point between 1868 or so and 1871 The Boyd Family emigrated from Scotland to Grantham, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada. Mary was the daughter of John Boyd b:ca 1829, place unk..probably Scotland or Ireland, and Mary Guthrie, born Oct 1829, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. John Boyd and Mary Guthrie were married in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland, and daughter Mary was first born. I have no marriage record on Alexander Clark and Mary Boyd; however, they had a daughter, also named Mary Clark, b:10 Oct 1872 in Grantham, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada. They may have had more children while in Ontario, Canada. My Grandfather, William Alexander Clark was born in Merritton, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Can. in Feb 1877. There appears to be a Son John, born sometime in 1879 Can. My Grandfather's Naturalization papers show that he emigrated from Ontario, Can. to Buffalo, Erie co. NY on 1 April 1879 via New York Railroad. (At 2 years old, I assume he was accompanied by his Parents..Alexander Clark & Mary Boyd) or..other relatives. I assume that this Boyd Family went with them at the same time or near that time, as The Clarks appeared on the 1880 MA Census in Attleboro, Bristol Co. MA with 3 children; and The Boyds appeared on the 1880 RI Census in Lincoln, Providence Co. RI with 4 children (not Mary). My Grandfather, William Alexander Clark, grew up and worked in MA. He married Mary Doyle from Worcester, MA. Daughter of Daniel Doyle and Abigail Coffey, both from Ireland. Wm. Alexander Clark and Mary Doyle were actually married in St Joseph's Cathedral, Buffalo, Erie Co. NY and then lived in Worcester, MA. My Father, William Albert Clark was born in Worcester, MA..schooled there and then he and his Parents moved to Waterbury, New Haven CT. by the 1920 CT Census. Later about 1923, they removed to Devon, Milford, New Haven Co. CT. My Father and Mother, (Helen L. Duhaime) were married in Milford, CT. and had 3 children: Barbara, Wm.Neil, and Daniel Alan. On the 1910 MA Census, an Alexander Clark, who I believe is my Great-Grandfather, was a widower, and bording with a Frank Harrison. On this Census , it was indicated that He, Alexander, immigrated to USA in either 1857 or 1859...and still listed as an Alien. Thus, I have no idea where he might have been before going to Ontario, Canada. No information on him other than his Parents were born in Scotland also. I have NO information on little John Clark, born in 1879. I do know, from my Grandparents marriage certificate from Buffalo, NY, that Witnesses at their wedding were John Clark and Lillian Biden, relationship unknown, as the Priest's name also was Father Biden. Can anyone connect with these families?? Did anyone have these names in your genealogy and were any of them in Canada at any time? From memory, I think that there was a Charles A. Clark who showed up in Prince Edward Island, Can.; and a Charles Clark in Ontario, Can. I think that there was a William Clark and Emiline (sp) Miller from Manitoba, who went to NY ...date off hand not available. Sorry I do not have all my notes with me as I am currently in Nova Scotia, Can. for the summer. Hope that this information helps someone and perhaps there is a connection out there. Barb Clark
