    1. Re: [Clarke-Clark] John CLARK, Jr./Paterson NJ
    2. This is where I am hitting my obstacles: Here is what I have John Clark born about 1740 in County Derry Ireland That is assume because that is where he immigrated from Howv ever Clark is not a Irish surname and Count Derry was primarily the recipient of English to work the Mannered English farms and estates so he could have come from England or Scotland to Derry to the colonies. e was married to a Susan last name unknown born abt 1786 in Maryland. They had two sons Henry B, John Clark, Jr. and Margaret D. All settled in Allegheny County, PA this county was subdivided into many other counties one which they had removed to was Armstrong County Town of Leechburg. Have very good record form this point forward I I can help you maybe you can reciprocate. Sincerely: Charles J. Clark, Jr.(Jim) 6419 Barfield Dr. Dallas, TX 75252

    3. Is your John Clark, Jr. married to Margaret D., or is that a sister? What I know that I do have is a Jesse Clark, b. Sept 1823/1824 (according to census records he was born in West Virginia.) His mother's name was Margaret, born in Virginia (again, according to census), abt. 1801-1805. Margaret died 14 Feb 1899, Greenbrier Run, Doddridge Co., West Virginia. Her husband's name (and Jesse's father) was John Clark, according to her tombstone. She is buried beside her son Jesse and his wife Charlotte Fitz-Randolph Clark. I would assume that the John Clark I am looking for was born in New Jersey about 1800, but I have yet to find a census where he is living with Margaret and Jesse. The earliest census I show them on has Jesse married to Charlotte and Margaret living with them as a widow. Any clues greatly appreciated.
