Hi fellow CLARK/CLARKE family researchers, I am trying to find living descendants of Elisha CLARK born Apr. 9, 1802, Hampstead, New Brunswick, Canada and died Nov. 29, 1867 in Kewanee, Illinois. He was married on Jan 26, 1826 in Glanford, Ontario to Elizabeth THOMAS who was born in Canada ( poss NB) on Nov 29, 1807 and died in Kewanee, Ill. on Jan 3, 1860. Elisha and Elizabeth moved to Kewanee, Ill. in 1855. This Elisha CLARK is the eldest son of my 3rd great grandfather Jabez CLARK (b. 1769 North Kingstown Rhode Island died 1845 Glanford, Ont) and Rebecca BURNEY (b. Mar 9, 1781, New York, baptized Trinity Church NYC). A descendant, Don L. CLARK and his wife Venice PETERSON wrote a detailed family history, a copy of which was given to the Glanford Historical Society. I would like to get in touch with Don and Venice or any of their siblings to obtain more information on the family. Elisha CLARK and Elizabeth THOMAS' children were all born in Glanford and include: Daniel b. 1826 Rebecca b. 1828 William b. 1828 John b. 1831 Edwin b. 18344 Nancy A. b. 1836 Walter b. 1838 Asa b. 1840 Rachael b. 1843 Mary b. 1846 Ezra B. b 1848 Emery b. 1850 One son, Ezra B. CLARK B. 1848, married Ella FERRIS in 1875. This family then moved to Platte Co., Nebraska by 1880. They were in McCune Kansas by 1884 and later on moved to Carl Junction, Missouri and Mt. Ayre, Iowa. In 1902, they went back to Kansas by covered wagon and settled on a farm near Erie. Their children were: Ada b. 1877 d. 1881 Elmer G. b. 1879 Neb. Fred L. b. 1884 Kansas Maude R. b. 1887 Kansas Clifford R. b. 1894 Iowa Don L. CLARK is the son of Fred L. CLARK and his wife Elizabeth Mariah PIATT. Don is the person I am seeking or any of his siblings who are Ava, Katherine, Vera, Jack W., Nadine or Lyle.
