    1. Thomas Clark Sr at Ruddles Station (Harrison Co) KY 1779-1780

    3. June 30, 1780 Ruddles Station, KY - The British and Indians attacked and completely destroyed the fort, killing 20 people and taking the remaining captives on a forced march to Detroit. A Thomas Clark is listed among the residents. This is the same Thomas Clark who was named in the following Preemption Warrants on Licking Creek (in present-day Harrison Co, KY). 1.) Preemption Warrant #: 587 Click here for image. Name: Clark, Thomas County: Kentucky Type #2: Preemption Acreage #2: 1000 Location/WaterCourse: Licking Creek Assignee #1: Davis, James Issue Date: 11/20/1779 Authorized: VA 1131.0 PW*: * 2.) Preemption Warrant #: 1258 Click here for image. Name: Clark, Thomas Sr. County: Kentucky Type #2: Preemption Acreage #2: 1000 Location/WaterCourse: Licking Creek Assignee #1: Hawkins, Martin Issue Date: 2/21/1780 Authorized: VA 0972.0 PW*: * To search for and view Early Certificates of Settlement and Preemption Warrants in Kentucky County, Virginia, go to the Kentucky Land Office website at http://apps.sos.ky.gov/land/nonmilitary/settlements/ . Thomas Clark is not on the list of captives taken, and I do not know what happened to him after the attack on Ruddles Station and Martins Station. A Google search for "Ruddles Station" or "Martins Station" will lead to very interesting background information about the families that lived in this area. I am trying to determine 1) if there is anyone who claims this Thomas Clark as their ancestor and 2) if this is the same Thomas Clark Sr who in the 1780s was on Paint Lick Creek in Madison Co KY (present-day Garrard County.) I am also interested in determining where Thomas Clark of Licking Creek came from. Thanks! Fay Clark

    3. Fay, thanks for all of this info. Is Bartholomeu Wood from Warren County your relative? Saw his will and estate inventory.
