For many years, Richard Clark was Revenue Collector in Genesee (?) County, NY, and in 1812 he removed to Scioto County, Ohio, and during the war (War of 1812) was in the butchering business. He then went to Ross County, Ohio. He traded with the Indians at Sandusky until 1824 when he returned to New York and practiced medicine until 1851 or 1852. He then came to Attica, Fountain Co, IN, where he resided until his death in 1856. His wife died in 1812.
