Hi all, Edwin Harvey Clarke 1810-1865, is my 3rd great-grandfather. He was born in Manchester, Va. to James Clarke, Jr. and his wife, Martha Harrison Murchie. In 1833 he married to Esther Hughes Cunliffe 1819-1900. They had 4 boys and 3 girls in that order. Their sons were: Lynden Sydnor Clark 1834-1913 Carroll Charles Clarke 1839-1900 Shirley Hepsy Clarke 1842-1891 Ogden Hoffman Clarke 1843-1894 all 4 of the boys fought in the Civil War, all married but only Lynden and Ogden had children. Their daughters were: Esther Marian Clarke 1849-1918(my 2nd ggrandmother), she md. to Richard Holt Vaughan in 1870 and had 7 children. Glenda Burke Clarke 1852-1934 Ann K.
