My William Clark is from 96 Dist South Carolina (Edgefield), he was born about 1788 and was in the current Pike County Mississippi area around 1812 and came to Sabine County, Texas in 1821. Named after the ancient "rock wall" that runs through land in Rockwall which is rimmed on the west side of town by Lake Ray Hubbard, approximately 20 minutes east of downtown Dallas. Rockwall County is, also, the smallest county in Texas and, surprisingly, the 2nd wealthiest county in Texas, if that statistic still holds. (Not sure if it is wealthier than Dallas or Houston. Amazing, huh? <lol>) It is, basically, where East Texas begins. And, strangely enough, the landscape with abundance of trees and brush really does look different here than on the other side of Fort Worth where West Texas, (where I grew up,) begins, but both are beautiful areas.
