I am looking for a Moses Clarke who listed his home as Stafford in Hartford County, CT, in 1766. He bought property in NS and the deed was drawn in Hartford. I am trying to find his parents. I thought they were the Stonington, CT, family of John Clarke but I've been unable to make the connection. He was born ca 1715-1730 and married a Mary unknown. All his children were born in the US, presumably CT before they emigrated to Horton Township in Kings County, Nova Scotia in about 1761; later they went to Yarmouth where they appear in the 1773 census; and in about 1776 they emigrated to the St. John River in what became New Brunswick and settled at Gagetown.
