Patricia, There certainly could be a connection somewhere with my John's father if Baylis was a family name with our families. The Baylis could be a "red herring" though because John Baylis Earle and Baylis Earle were prominent men in the upper SC area where my Clarks ended up and maybe my John was named for them. My John B.
