SC Wife --Jennie Sammons from Greenville Dist SC; died well before 1850 Occupation-carpenter, cabinet maker, Anderson town council 1845-1855 Children: 1- John B. Clarke, Jr (1824-1888) merchant tailor , Anderson SC m. Martha Nevitt 2- Elizabeth "Betsey" Clarke ( c1820-1857) m. Jesse R. Smith-merchant tailor Other family-- A Jane Clarke born 1777 living with John Clarke in the Anderson SC 1850 census listed as born in SC, but in the 1860 census says born in NC. Could be mother, stepmother or sister. Listed as Mrs Jane Clarke at estate sale. Any clues or information about John Clarke's ancestry will be appreciated.
