    3. Your post caught my eye because of some name similarities. Do you know where your Samuel & Penelope Hovey Clark originated? The patriarch of my Clarks in South Central Kentucky was Samuel Clark, b. ca. 1770 who also had a son by the same name. Another son Jesse b. 1800 had a son who married a Margaret Jane Bell. Both Margaret and her brother William Riley Bell married HONEY siblings. (Margaret was widowed and married John Honey; William married Millie Honey.) Some early records for these Honeys have been transcribed incorrectly to read HOVEY. I do not know what happened to Samuel Clark, Jr., who he married, etc., but these families intermarried so many different ways, I'm wondering if it's possible that your Samuel Clark / Penelope Hovey might be connected in some way. The Honeys, by the way, lived in Fentress County, TN, just over the state line from Wayne/Clinton Counties in KY.
