POSTED 7/27/01 Message Board for CLARK http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=an&p=surnames.clark ================================================================= Subject: Hannah Ann Clark, b.NY 1801, d.UT 1843 From_: stellalvin@juno.com Thu Jul 26 21:10:01 2001 Searching for the family of Hannah, who married John Reid Blanchard, Sr. in 1821, probably in New York. Their children were: Lois Ann, b.1822, NY Mary Elizabeth, b.1823, NY George Washington, b. 1824, NY Emeline, b. 1826, NY Hosiah Lloyd, b. 1828, NY John Reid, Jr., b. 1830, Lee, Oneida Co, NY Sarah Ann, b. 1832, NY Henry, b. 1834, NY Charles, b. 1836, NY Frances Ann, b. 1838, NY Clark, 1841, NY Hannah Ann Clark Blanchard died in the Spring of 1843 in Nauvoo, Illinois. Her husband remarried in 1844 to Margaret Norris Cook. Margaret's sister, Elizabeth, married a William Clark who was born in 1808 in Pennsylvania. William Clark's parents were Richard and Ann Elizabeth Sheffer Clark, of Pennsylvania. Some research done by a paid researcher many years ago said that he thought that Hannah's father was a William Clark. Does anyone have any idea who Hannah's family might actually have been? Many thanks for any assistance. stellalvin@juno.com =================================================== Subject: Re: Jacob Clark - NC b. 1740's From_: dmclark@eagnet.com Fri Jul 27 20:42:29 2001 Thank you for getting in touch with me. I don't have much information on Jacob Clark. He was born in 1747 in Wilmington, N.C. He served in the Revolutionary War and was captured and sent to prison in St. Augustine, Fla. While there, he apparently met Sara Stephens. He was returning to N.C., supposedly got sick, and stayed in Camden County, Ga. He married Sara here in 1783. Other records indicate that he was a farmer, canoe maker and shoe maker. He purchased a plantation here and then later sold it. He died in Camden, but I have no records that indicate where he is buried. His widow returned to Fla. and is buried down there. I would like to visit Wilmington and continue my research. I too am very interested in the Clark family history. From checking out other Clark histories, I have a feeling that this family has been in the U.S. for a long time. dmclark@eagnet.com ================== basil greenlee and florence clark From_: PAD2DHN@aol.com Fri Jul 27 20:42:34 2001 A message was posted on may 17,1999 by DENVER CLARK stating that he had their marriage licence and they are my sons grandparents.
