Hi.. I found your message to the CLARKE-L during a routine search for the BUCK surname.... and I was interested in the Wisconsin connection that you have. My father's family (BUCK) was from the mid Illinois area... but my mother's family is found in Monroe and Juneau Counties, Wisconsin, which are very close to Salk County.... I was born and raised in Madison (about 50 miles south of Baraboo) and know the area pretty well....... My BRAMAN family married into the CLARK family.... but I don't have any earlier CLARKs than William H. Clark, b. 1853. I don't know where he was born, but many of my BRAMAN and collateral lines came from New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. I do have descendant data for William H. and his family, but, unfortunately, no ancestor data...... If you ever find a William in your Wisconsin family, let me know and we can compare notes! His father unconfirmed was also living in the same home in the 1850 census, gone in 1860. Haven't found burial records on either.. Benjamin's daughter was Ella Mae Clark.
