    2. There is a very good article in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly that you would find valuabelif you have GA ancestors. It is in the Sept. 1967 issue, Vol. 55. No 3, on pages 177 - 210. The title is "Names Changed Legally in GA, 1800 - 1856 and the author is Arthur Ray Rowland. I have reveiwed it and here are the Clark listings. James Norman name chg. to James Courtney Clark on 1/21/1852, Jasper County. Child of Courtney J. Clark of Jacksonville, AL. Reason: born out of wedlock, name changed and legitimatized. Caroline Evans name chg. to Minerva Clark on 12/19/1828. Child of Jinney Evans, Jones County. Reason: same as above. Adeline Evans name chg. to Missouri Adeline Clark on 12/19/1828. Child of Jinney Evans, Jones Couty. Frederick Clark name changed to Frederick Bunker Folger on 12/19/1835. That is all it says on this one. Allen Clark name chg. to Allen Owings on 12/10/1823, McIntosh County. The author went through the records of the General Assembly to gather these names so you could consult that record for the date given. Hope this helps someone.Sandy
