I have a southern CLARK I need help with. I am looking for information on my gg-grandfather,Benjamin Franklin CLARK, b. (supposedly )Sept. 11, 1823 in Memphis, TN. (but more likely Alabama). He died 12 Nov 1898 in Naples, Morris Co., TX. He married (1) Harriet Francis THOMPSON on 17 Feb 1847 in or near Memphis, TN. She was born 14 Dec 1831 in PA and died 30 May 1879 in Naples, Morris Co.,TX Their known children were: 1. Mary b. abt 1850 d. bef. 1860 2. Emily J. "Emma" b. abt 1855 d. unknown married Unknown DEFORD -- no children 3. Christine Hester "Kitty" b. abt 1858 d. 1906 married John Douglas PUCKETT -- 6 children 4. Sarah Ellen b. 12 Sep 1861, d. 9 Dec 1939 married John L. FRANKLIN 12 children 5. David L. b. 1866, d. unknown married Louella GUEST -- 6 children 6. Haughty Franklin (Hoyt) b. Feb 1873, d. 1939 married Winnie Elizabeth Adaline GAUNTT -- 8 children =========================== After Harriet's death, Benjamin Franklin CLARK then married (2) Mary Elizabeth FRANKLIN on Oct. 1, 1879. She was born Jan. 1856 in MS and died Dec. 16, 1918. Their children were: 7. Robert Edwin (my g-grandfather), m. Narrah Leona NEWSOME - 7 children 8. Benjamin Fladger, 9. Mary 10. Thomas "Tom" m. 11. Jeraldine Elizer m. Ed HODGE -- one child I am looking for ANY information on this family at all, but specifically, Benjamin's parents. Need also any siblings and parents of Mary Elizabeth FRANKLIN CLARK & Harriet Frances THOMPSON CLARK. Benjamin F. CLARK might possibly be the brother of Hiram CLARK & Jackson CLARK who were in Hardin Co., TN in 1850 and by 1860 were in Titus County, TX. Possible mother for these CLARKS is Sarah Jane ? who later married a William LACKEY. B.F. CLARK is my brick wall!! Help!!
