I sent for a will for a JOHN CLARKE of London and it turned out to be no help to me. The will says JOHN CLARKE JR. was a merchant and was making his will, even though he was a young man, because he was going to make a trip to Virginia in North America. The will was drawn 1748 and was proved in England 11/2 1757. Mentioned are JOHN CLARKE SR. of Bugbrooke (?) NorthHampton England, his mother CATHERINE CLARKE, sister CATHERINE CLARKE, spinster. Witnesses RICHARD BENNETT, EDMOND BENTON JR., and JAMES BENNETT of London. I'm not sure where he died but I got the information on the will from the Virginia Digital Library. I have an extra copy. If it will be helpful to someone, I'd be happy to send it to you. Linda
