The widow of John CLARK (of Virginia) alleged that he was in the battles at Kings Mountain, Cowpens, and others. He served one tour against the Indians. At sometime, he was a sergeant... The Battle of Kings Mountain, October 1780, on the border of NC & SC. Some 900 American Sharpshooters defeated a larger British force, checking CORNWALLIS in his Carolina campaign...
