I would like to be on all Clark/Clarke -L lists but all of these notes are very confusing and time consuming. Please put me on all. Since the name in earlier times had an E on the end wouldn't most peole want to be on both? I wish to appologize for all the confusion and mayhem on the list over the last two days. > > The way the lists are linked there is no way to send only to the MODERATED Clark-L what goes to the CLARK-L comes to the CLARKE-L. The CLARK-L has not taken new members for the last two months (or so). The only posts that go to the CLARK-L come from the CLARK board at Ancestry, they in turn, are automatically sent on to the CLARKE-L. > > Looking at the subject line, when you see: > [CLARKE] it comes from the Clarke list or the Boards @ Ancestry. > [CLARKE][CLARK] it comes from the Clark Boards @ Ancestry to the CLARKE list. > > It is true, there are folks on the CLARK list that are not subscribed to the CLARKE-L, the main list, that's what this was all about - getting them where they needed to be - on the CLARKE-L. I had roughly 200 emails yesterday and have wadded through all responding and trying to calm folks who beleive they are going to miss that one connection we are all looking for - you know the "one"! > > It is also true that folks on the CLARKE-L are subscribed to the CLARK-L and have never unsubscribed from the CLARK-L. This causes them to receive duplicate postings, increasing the volume of mail they receive and have to wade through. Please, take a moment, go to Password Central, look and see if you are on the CLARK-L. If CLARK-L (no e) is on the list, please send an unsubscribe message, I will take care of it for you - yes, you will receive the {not a subscriber} message - you will get this because the list is moderated and the list manager needs to do it manually. > Password Central: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ > > More <sigh!> later... > Sue, List Manager > > ==== CLARKE Mailing List ==== > Boards > Surnames > Clarke ~ posts default to the CLARKE-L > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.clarke > Bible, Bio, B, Cem, Cen, D, Deed, Imm, Lkup, Mar, Mil, Obit, Pen, Will
