    1. [CLARKE] Clarks in Garrard Co.KY early 1800's
    2. I have been doing some research again in Garrard Co. and found something interesting on the Clarks below. John Clark Orange Co.NC married Eleanor Clark ca 1760. They moved to Garrard Co.KY as early as 1794 when John bought land from Thomas Graves. Eleanor was named in Forrest Calico's book, "History of Garrard Co" as one of the original settlers in Garrard before 1800. John died before 1801 when his wife and sons sold the family farm to the eldest son, John Jr. On all documents and transcriptions I have found someone has always written Milly beside Nelly. Saturday I received the will of William Clark and he states he wants his parents John and Milly Clark to live on his plantation. This will was written in 1822. As my John was dead before 1801 and the deed listed Eleanor as a widow this couldn't be the same couple. This William married Sarah Crawford Oct.22,1801 Garrard Co.KY. William Clark and Mary Comely Oct.17,1798 Garrard Co.KY William Clark and Margaret Miller Dec.11,1787 Madison Co.KY There was also a William Clark and Fanny Brown married in Madison Co.KY around the same time and he died in 1794. Is anyone interested in this Clark family? I am still in the process of verifying info I have found and am trying to descramble these families. Thanks Marilyn Merritt
