Joe A. Regarding William A. Clarke - American National Biography says he was born near Connellsville, Fayette County, PA 1/8/1839. In 1856 he moved to Iowa with his parents, while teaching he studied law and worked in the quartz mines near Central City, Gilpin County, Colo in 1862. Went to Montana in1863 and settled in Bannack, Beaverhead County. He also, spent some time in Nevada where there is a town named after him. I am trying to find out who his parents were? If he ever married? Had children and their names if any? Thanks for your help.
