My gr. gr. gr. grandfather, Thomas Clarke, supposedly was b. in VA. I think I have some correspondence from you and supposedly Thomas is Richard's son. I don't know from which marriage. I don't have any info, from Thomas on back, but have info on Thomas' son, James Clark (I think by Thomas' first wife). James was my gr. gr. grandfather. He was supposedly b. in NC ca 1780 and moved to KY, then TN then Madison Co., AR, where he died. He m. an Agnes Henderson. I think Thomas' first wife's name was Sarah. Do you have a last name for her? Also, do you know in what cemetery Thomas and first and second wife are buried? I didn't realize Richard was in the shipbuilding business. I would love to know who the first Clarke in America was and where he came from and on what ship. I will gladly share any info I have. Thanks for any help!
