Hi Linda; The 1774 census shows a Arnold Clarke in Richmond, Rhode Island The 1782 census shows a Arnold Clarke in Newport, R.I. and a Arnold Clarke in North Scituate, R.I. One of the 1782 census Arnolds may be your 1774 guy who moved. There are few Arnolds in the Clark(e) families which I have researched and should make it a bit easier for you. Also I have found a number of Newport people which came from Richmond. I'm sure I'm not much help. John
