This is one of my most persistent "brick walls," and I periodically re-post it in hope that a new reader connects with it. I am searching for info about my g-grandmother MARGARET CLARK who was born about 1831 in North Carolina (possibly near Raleigh). MARGARET died 27 Jan 1881 at Portsmouth, Iowa. Her headstone states that she was 49. She got sick in Kansas, and went to Portsmouth, IA for treatment, where her brother, Dr. JOHN W. CLARK, practiced medicine. Dr. JOHN CLARK also died shortly thereafter on 11 Jun 1881, and is buried in Portsmouth Cemetery close to MARGARET. Dr. Clark was a Mason, and may have been a Civil War vet. Lee A.
