Just found this listed on ebay. Hope it helps someone. Nikki "Antique Bible. Boies Pemrose Family. 1823. Published in New York in 1823. Label on back cover says: J.S. Boies 4 Otis Place. Both front and back covers are present but are not attched to the book. Purchased at an Estate Auction - Starting bid is what I paid for it. Hoping to return it to family. It appears this bible was started in the Boies Family then passed to the Pemrose family through marriage. Some information from bible: Jeremiah Smith Boies son of James and Elizabeth Boies born in Milton, Massachusetts 27th March 1762. Sarah Hannah Boies daughter of Joseph and Isabella Elizabeh Clarke born in Stratford Connecticut 1st Jan 1762 Married in Braintree 8th Nov 1785. Record lists their son Jeremiah, his marriage and children. (Birth, Death Date and Burial Spot are listed for all the above). The Second Jeremiah's daughter Sarah Hannah Boies married Richard Alexander Fullerton Pemrose MD (Son of Charles B. Pemrose, Esq & Valina F. Biddle). A page in the bible lists their children's birth and baptism. As well as the dates of their illnesses. ex: Measels, Chicken Pox. There is even a reference to one of the children losing part of his finger in an accident at Saratoga Springs NY. Dr. Richard Pemrose continued that family records after the death of his "Idolized" wife in 1881. He has a 1/2 page entry about his wife's death that would make anyone tear up. He added pages into the bible with his parents and siblings records. The last dates recorded were in 1901 and 1902. Some of the names mentioned: Bingham, Hubbard, Fullerton, Thomas."
Well, Lists, another year has gone by and I have been lucky enough to break down some of my brick walls, find some new 'cousins' and generally enjoy the hobby. It is time for my annual update of the surnames, dates, and locations that I am researching. I think, in order to save time, I will do a generic list of the 3 most pressing (frustrating) and hope someone can come up with a match. Hello, Margaret and others researching Asa Clark -- I'm wondering if a "Maria C." or perhaps "Mary C." Clark has popped up in your research? The Whitney website says she was b. 10 May 1823, Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY. I'm not sure about the location. Since I haven't been able to connect her to someone at that time and place, I'm wondering if she was actually b. somewhere else. She m. Stephen Weeks, 26 Sep 1843, Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY. Immediately after they married, they moved on to Leslie, Ingham Co., MI --- settling there that same year. Maria/Mary d. at Leslie, 1 Jul 1862, and is bur. at Woodlawn Cem., Leslie, Ingham Co., MI. Maria/Mary C. Clark is my g-g-grandmother, and I would love to find out who her parents were. Best Regards and Happy New Year --- Sally (Bolster) Holcombe holcombejr@mindspring.com
Gloria; On further review, I find Asa Clark, Jr. listed in Brookfield TWP, Madison CO, NY 1810 Census: family posted as: 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 . In "Pioneer Settlers of Madison CO.", by Tuttle, the following on page 53: "CLARK, ASA. Died October. 28, 1850 aged 74. Buried at Pratts Hollow. On Cazenovia census 1810." [ I cannot reconcile the Cazenovia / Brookfield discrepancy mrs]. Immediately following the above listing is one for "Clark, Asa B. 1811 - 1885. Wife Nancy B...." This is highly suggestive that Asa B. is the son of Asa first listed above. Margaret Should any of this "fit" your search parameters, please let me know.

Hi, Try going to Gencircles.com and looking under Edward Cobb, using the date of 1731 and in the spouse use Elizabeth Bowers. They list a birthing of Elizabeth Bowers. I believe this is part of the family you are searching for. I have found Gencircles a very good place to start research. Let me know what you think. researching clark/clarke families. Greetings from Amsterdam, Clark(e) listers. I have a plague/blessing of Clark(e)s in my family tree! Can anyone help with any of these? 1 - Keziah Emily CLARKE, b 1852 in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. She married Henry RAMSBOTTOM in Norwich sometime around 1872. I'm currently waiting for her birth certificate. 2 - Martha CLARKE, b 22 Jun 1806 in Cawston, Norfolk, UK. I know her father was Thomas and mother, Mary. Martha married Edward EASTON in Cawston in 1827. 3 - my maternal grandmother was Yensie Mabel CLARK. Her father was Edgar Clark, born in 1875 in West Norwood, Surrey. His father was Henry Clark, born in 1841 in Wordwell, Suffolk His parents were Henry and Rebecca Clarke, but I have nothing else on them. Can anyone shed any light on any of these for me? Many thanks Regards Paul Howes
