Interesting, my great grand mother Mary Felicity LeRoi Clarke Martin (mother of my William, remarried) died in Long Beach c. 1940. She was living with relatives there, I don't know if they were Martins or Clarkes or what Wm.'s father's first name was or if Wm. had any siblings. When he divorced my grandmother he moved to Washington and remarried and my mother didn't see him again until 1965. Widow will not give us any information. I am trying to get his military records, maybe there is a connection. Ronna Fillhart

Sorry, I have no Idea. My ancestors left England in the 1890s and I only know 2 of them that came to Canada, and one of those left for Australia. One of my grandfather's brothers was named Aurthur Rush Clarke in honour of his great grandfather Sir William Beaumauris Rush. Hence my interest in any Clarke with the middle name of RUSH, it's the sort of name that can only be a passed down family name. Posted on: Clarke Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Clarke/10267 Surname: CLARKE, SKINNER, PARK, NICHOLS, MURRAY, McCALLUM, CURRAN ------------------------- I am researching the family of Cornelius CLARKE of Carlisle, England. He was born c.1892 and was the only son of Thomas CLARKE and Margaret CURRAN. I am interested in any information regarding Thomas's mother and/or father (Sarah MURRAY and William CLARKE), or Thomas's family from a second marriage.
Allan: I saw your e-mail below. Did you have any ancestors from the Dundalk, Proton, Grey County area? << Since you are not sharing this information and building up your own "clearing house" I really am glad that I have not shared my Clarke/Clark information on this site. Certainly glad that you explained yourself. Pat >> I don't understand how you can say this, are you new to the list? I have been watching this list for a couple of years, and whenever anyone asks about a specific person, he is always more than happy to send all that he has about that person. I think you owe him an apology.... Michaelle
I have also thought of a quaker connection. I know that J. B. Clarke, Jr. belonged to the 1st Baptist church in Anderson and his family is buried there. I don't know where J. B. Clarke, Sr., his wife Jennie, or Jane Clarke are buried. Just do the lookups when you have time. Thanks so much!! Susan -- -- Susan C. THIS MESSAGE IS FOR PAT! FYI: I would have never got as far as I have without the open and honest knowledge and complete sharing of this man. He has also put me in touch with many other researchers that have been able to assist me. He remembers "your Clark/Clarke" family link and, when info that might connect yours to them comes in, he "always"........ posts a message for you to see. Where have you been??????? You DO owe him an a big apology.
