That may be him!!!!!!!!! He gave his birthdate differently on every form he ever filled out and he used 1814 quite a bit. I'd love to hear more from you. I have looked for this man's family for almost 30 yrs.!!!!!!! He was my great-greatgrandfather. Debbie Mangen Anthony, KS dmangen@cyberlodge.com "My mind is like lightning. My computer records show a son named Samuel Clark born in 1814. I'll search through my papers for anything else on him. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Deborah L. --Kathy, I'm not certain if you are asking about a specific Samuel Clark in some posting which I have not seen on Clark-L. I decided to respond anyway, because I do have a SAMUEL CLARK in my line. He may be someone out there's relative. My Samuel Clark was born in 1757 in Haddam , CT, the son of Reuben Clark and Mary Tryon. He married Mary Lee also of CT. He was an early settler ( 1802) in Genesee county, NY.. Died in Elba, NY Mar 15, 1815. Samuel and Mary Lee Clark also had a son SAMUEL, born 1796. He married Statira Brown in Genesee Co, NY. Died in Ohio in 1849. Message ----- From: To: CLARKE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: 4/20/01 8:24:54 PM Subject: Re: [CLARKE] Clark/Clarke Could you give me a location and time period for your Samuel Clark. Someone on the list who's emails show as coming from R CLARK has the badtrans virus. Their computer replied to the post I made to the list last night and includes one of the attachments used by the virus. This person need to scan your machine and remove the virus immediately. If you use McAfee as an AV and it shows you are virus free, scan with another program. New pictures of the family is a virus hoax and can be checked out at any of the hoax and/or urban legend sites on the net. There is however a very rampant virus right now called BadTrans or W32. On an infected computer it will answer all unanswered emails and include an attachment which contains the virus. I don't have the URL at hand but you can go to www.symantec.com and find information about the virus. You night have to do a search for BadTrans to find it. I just recieved this warning and thought it might be particularly relevant to those of us doing family research. Considering the person who sent it to me, I'm assuming it's a valid warning. Linda Owen, Oregon Subject: VIRUS ALERT BIGGGG TROUBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT OPEN "NEW PICTURES OF FAMILY" It is a virus that will erase your whole "C" drive. It will come to you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person. I repeat a friend sent it to me, but called and warned me before I opened it. He was not so lucky and now he can't even start his computer! Forward this to everyone in your address book. I would rather receive this 25 times than not at all. If you receive an email called "FAMILY PICTURES," do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all dynamic link libraries (.dll files) from your computer. ------
Could you give me a location and time period for your Samuel Clark. Thanks, Kathy Clark Stovall

Beth My grandfather was named after his uncle, Wm. Archer Clarke. I can't remember how much other info I put in posting, but, the uncle was in the railroad business somehow. My grandfather was born in Butte, Montana. His mother's name was Mary Felicity LeRoi and she was from Canada one of 13 children. I am trying to trace them also. I have also, requested my grandfathers military records, maybe they will give me his father's name. Unfortunately, his widow (2nd wife) doesn't want to have anything to do with family. I'll post what I find, but, it might be month or two. Ronna
